This document will help you get HTML Help running under Delphi.
What you need:
- You need a Delphi interface unit to get you into the Windows Html Help API. This is a port of the C++ header file htmlhelp.h.
Download our free HTML Help Kit for Delphi.
- To run HTML Help on your PC you must have the Internet Explorer 3.0 or greater installed. You also need the HTML Help runtime files.
Older systems such as Windows 95 and NT4 will require an upgrade.
Internet Explorer is a free download from the MS Web as is HTML Help run-time installer (hhupd.exe).
See HTML Help Links for download URLs.
- If you want to create your own CHM help files then you need to download and install MS HTML Help Workshop.
To make a CHM file you first create help web using a HTML editor (eg. MS FrontPage, HomeSite) then use HH Workshop to compile the web to a .CHM help file.
See HTML Help Links for download URLs.
Note: Create quick and painless HTML Help using our shareware program FAR.
